Research grant of the duration of 20 months concerning "Breeding, phenotyping and genome wide association in tomato for the development of genotypes suitable for organic cultivation" is available at CREA (COUNCIL FOR AGRICULTURAL RESEARCH AND ECONOMICS) Research Centre for Vegetable and Ornamental Crops of Pontecagnano (ITALY).

All EU and NON-EU citizens are eligible.

Benefits

The total amount of the research grant is EUR 45.000,00 (gross), to be issued in instalments at the end of each month. This amount includes INPS (National Welfare Institute) duties to be paid by the research grant beneficiary.

Eligibility criteria a) University degree; b) being younger than 35 years of age; c) not having entered other work contracts with CREA

Selection process The Selection Panel is composed of three members: one is selected among the experts registered in the official list of consultants published on the Agency’s website and fulfilling the functions of Chairman; another among CREA’s permanent employees working as a professional Researcher or Technologist Expert in a different Research Centre from the one where the research grant beneficiary is to work; the third expert is the scientific coordinator of research.

Skills/Qualifications Consolidated experience is required in the field of genetic improvement of crops with skills in:

• molecular biology techniques (nucleic acid extraction, molecular marker analysis, sequencing methodologies),
• analysis of NGS data from GBS and Rad libraries, knowledge of software for population structure analysis, genomic diversity and association mapping,
• phenotyping of agronomic trials and experience in statistical analysis of data.
